Palo Santo Wood Chips - 1oz

Palo Santo Wood Chips - 1oz

Palo Santo is a tree native to Mexico, the Yucatan Peninsula south to Peru and Venezuela. It is also found in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Colombia, Honduras, Ecuador and on the Galapagos islands. The tree belongs to the same family (Burseraceae) as frankincense and myrrh. Palo Santo Wood Chips can be used in small amounts as an ingredient in incense mixtures or burned on charcoals. Mixes wonderfully with all the copal resins, sandalwood, vanilla, balsams, benzoin, etc.

Palo Santo is now a protected resource, as its precious oil was harvested through deforestation for several decades. There has been a strong movement for replanting and replenishing this beloved wood that has been used in many South American cultures, such as the Incas, for centuries. We obtain our Palo Santo from trusted and ethical vendors who only harvest from naturally fallen trees.
